I read How Full is Your Bucket? then we talked about examples from the book of things that were bucket fillers and things that were bucket dippers. The kids seemed to really understand the concepts.....they have trouble putting it into practice!!
After reading and discussing, we made a bucket filler/bucket dipper chart. (I found this idea somewhere on Pinterest --imagine that!) I started off by giving examples, and they told me if it was a filler or a dipper. Then they started giving suggestions to add. I added one of my own too.
Next week, we are going to review bucket fillers and dippers by reading another book, Have You Filled A Bucket Today?
While searching Amazon, I found even more books on this same topic. I'm going to have to head to the library to see if I can find any of these Bucket Filler books!!
Holy cow! I didn't know there were so many other books. I have Have you Filled a Bucket Today? Looks like I'm going book shopping:) Thanks for the info.

Thanks for sharing this activity. I've never heard of the book, but will be adding it to my classroom library as soon as I can get to the bookstore!
